PODCAST: Interview with Scottish Liberal Democrats leader Willie Rennie

Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie spoke to CommonSpace about a broad range of issues affecting local government at the party’s national conference

THE SCOTTISH LIBERAL DEMOCRATS have held their autumn conference in Dunfermline (12 November), where they geared up for next year’s local government elections. They voted on motions to do with planning, and members got introduced to council candidates.

Party leader Willie Rennie spoke to CommonSpace reporter David Thomson at the conference ahead of 2017 local government elections in Scotland.

Issues raised include the recent rise in local council tax passed in the Scottish Parliament, the SNP government centralising local services and the motion on planning discussed at the conference.
