TWO OF Scotland’s biggest train stations have still not offered free sanitary products to its passengers, four months after they agreed to do so.
A series of tweets from @EndPeriodPoverty – a twitter account that is part of Scottish Labour MSP Monica Lennon’s campaign to end period poverty – showed that both Edinburgh Waverley and Glasgow Central train stations have not put in a machine in the female toilets that will allow access to free sanitary products.

REFORM SCOTLAND, a pro-market think tank, has used a new report to call for the company which runs the rail infrastructure across the UK, Network Rail, to have its Scottish operations devolved.
The body also wants a new Scottish Rail Infrastructure Commission (SRIC) set up to improve planning and how Scotland’s cities and regions are connected by rail.

THE SNP spring conference has voted to demand the devolution of control over Network Rail, in a move framed by a wider debate about a future public bid for control of Scottish rail services.
Network Rail is the company that controls rail infrastructure, including signalling systems, rail and improvement works across the UK. The Scottish Government does not control its operation in Scotland, but does franchise out the operation of the Scotrail Train company.
